About the company

SBA-Norðurleið (Akureyri Bus Company) commenced its operation on the 1st of February 2001 when SBA purchased Norðurleið-Landleiðir ltd. The 1st of May 2001 SBA-Norðurleið and the coach service of BSH in Húsavík united under the name of SBA-Norðurleið. Today the company activates in two places, Akureyri and Reykjavík with the headquarters in Akureyri.

SBA-Norðurleið specialices in public transport.  The company also offers scheduled sightseeing tours from Akureyri to the natural beauty spots in the North-East of Iceland as well as bus hire for groups.

Throughout the year the personnel counts about 40, but more than doubles during the high season in the summer.

The staff at SBA-Norðurleið has an extencive experience in arrangements for all group sizes. A big task each summer is arranging sightseeing tours for passengers on pleasure cruises and guided tours for up to 2200 passengers have been organised. SBA-Norðurleið can, at a short notice, provide coaches for group travel for short and long tours to any part of Iceland and excursions can be organised to suit everyone´s requirements.

Today SBA-Norðurleið is among the biggest companies of its kind in Iceland operating more than 60 coaches accommodating 9 - 74 passengers. The coaches are fitted with double glazing, reclinable seats, good ventilation and heating, CD players, video cassette players, DVD players etc.

The aim of SBA-Norðurleið is to offer its clients well equipped coaches and an excellent service on fair prices.
